Physiotherapy Graduate Mentor Program

Remuneration: $54,500 p.a. (package)

Location: Adelaide, South Australia

The Wellness & Lifestyles Graduate Program gives you the opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative culture with inspiring leaders. It allows you to take advantage of training opportunities and to team up with South Australia’s leading mobile allied health service.

The Wellness & Lifestyles Graduate Mentor Program consists of the following:

Week 1

  • induction into W&L and to the head office team
  • completion of all W&L online training modules
  • training with W&L Director and management team
  • training with W&L Therapy Services Manager
  • introduction to W&L allied health managers

Week 2

  • onsite one on one training provided by a W&L manager/senior therapist
  • introduction to the W&L documentation system
  • introduction to the Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI)
  • introduction to the assessment techniques, care planning, delegation and provision of care directives

Weeks 3-12

  • continuation of training and support by W&L manager/mentor (minimum 4 hours per week)
  • 24/7 access to W&L mentor by phone
  • quality management audits completed by W&L manager/mentor fortnightly to provide feedback
  • ongoing Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI) training
  • W&L manager/mentor consultation with clients and W&L head office monthly to report on progress

Week 13

  • 3 monthly review with W&L manager/mentor and W&L management team
  • potential pay rise
  • reduction in mentor involvement to 1 hour per week
  • continued training provided by W&L head office and management team

Weeks 14-26

If all criteria are not being met:

  • continue mentorship program in weeks 3-12.

If all criteria are being met:

  • advance training by W&L manager/mentor to include protocols and procedures for educational training provided by W&L (including manual handling training) and W&L Consultancy Program
  • continue to get involved in ACFI analysis work at W&L sites

After 6 months, the successful graduate will become a W&L physiotherapist with the ability to receive all of the work-life balance benefits that our therapists receive including:

  • anywhere between 4 hours per week up to full time work (including weekends)
  • clients located across metropolitan Adelaide, Melbourne, Darwin and regional South Australia – therefore the ability to travel with your work

  • the ability to work as a subcontractor where you can be your own boss and significantly reduce your tax
  • the ability to have your own business without all the marketing, accounts, administration, advertising costs and invoicing
