Our mission at Wellness & Lifestyles Australia is to improve the quality of elderly people’s lives. We believe in a holistic ‘wellness’ approach for our clients and giving ‘lifestyle’ choices to our therapists. We have developed the business to not only be beneficial for our clients but also for our team. This is why we have been successful.  Our core service is what has led to the success of our business. That is servicing the aged care industry with our key services of physiotherapy, podiatry, speech pathology and dietetics.

The change in the demographic of SA’s population has also driven our growth.  With the number of elderly people increasing, the demand for services has increased. We have also noted a huge demand for an increased level of health care service. People are not satisfied with basic service anymore and this includes aged care facilities and private clients.  They now expect an improved response time, and a more hands-on service with more time being spent with clients. Some of our clients also require this to meet the changing demands of the aged care industry and to improve their facilities i.e. to meet best practice guidelines.

Another factor that has led to our success has been our documentation system. Utilising our system we can show aged care facilities how they can substantially increase their government funding. Our current statistics are showing a profit of approximately $6-7K per person per annum. We are the only organisation in South Australia that has a complete grasp of how the funding works in aged care facilities.

Our major challenge is sourcing good people.  There is a shortage of good allied health professionals. Other than this there are no growth limitations in the short term. As long as people keep getting older and living longer we will be in business. Even most of the baby boomers are not requiring care yet so there is still room for massive growth.

Join our team

We have just expanded interstate through ‘word of mouth’ about our service in SA and there is still room for growth within these States. We have not saturated the market by any means and our clients are also expanding their sites. To overcome the challenge of sourcing good people, we may need to take on more graduates and put them through intensive training and mentorships to cope with the demand. A challenge may also then be having the space to provide this training. We have also taken on a few overseas therapists in the past and may have to look at this in greater detail in the future.

W&L is now able to offer its ACFI system as a package to facilities that are either too far away for us to service or who want to keep their current therapist. This will allow for massive leverage within the business!
