Wellness and Lifestyles recognises the importance of principle

Wellness and Lifestyles have outlined what it means to be a great company by defining what makes a great company. As such, we believe our first responsibility is to the aged care facility residents, the elderly clients in their homes and the general public who use our products and services.  In meeting their needs everything we do must be of high quality. We must constantly strive to improve the level of care, the level of funding and reducing costs at aged care facilities.  Client requests for services must be dealt with promptly and accurately. All interactions with clients must be a positive experience with customer service of utmost importance.

We are responsible to our employees, the men and women who work with us throughout Australia.  Everyone must be considered as an individual.  We must respect their dignity and recognize their merit.  They must have a sense of security and excitement in their jobs.  Compensation must be fair and adequate, and their working environment clean, fresh and safe.  We must “be mindful of ways to help” our employees improve their “work-life balance”.  Employees must feel free to make suggestions and complaints.  There must be equal opportunity for employment, development and advancement for those qualified.  We must provide exceptional management evident by just and ethical actions.

We are responsible to our therapists and nurses.  They must have an opportunity to develop a work “lifestyle” that they want and to be remunerated extremely well for their efforts.  We must provide them with a wide variety of work options and balance this with their family or personal commitments.  We must experiment with new work options for our team.  Continuous Professional Development opportunities must be offered and innovated programs developed.  New equipment must be purchased, new facilities provided and new products launched. When we operate according to these principles, the therapist and nurse retention rate should be exceptional.

Our final responsibility is to the aged care organisations in which we work and to the world community to which we provide health care related advice.  We must be good citizens – support good works and charities and give back whenever possible.  We must encourage improvements in aged care and better health education.  We must maintain in good order the property we are privileged to use, protecting the environment and natural resources.
